Stadthöfe Hamburg: Major project in Hamburg city center

A mix of uses comprising apartments, office space, retail, restaurants, exhibitions and a hotel is being built in the former buildings of the city's development authority on a total floor area of 50,000 m². The inner courtyards are also to be used again and become a promenade. To commemorate the history of the Gestapo headquarters in Stadthausbrücke during the Third Reich, a memorial is to be set up in the so-called Brückenhaus. The Stadthausbrücke street is to be redesigned and the footpaths widened to up to ten meters. The facades of the imposing listed buildings will be largely preserved. Inside the ensemble, however, there will be extensive demolition work. A three-year construction period from 2014 to approx. 2017 is planned for the realization of the major project.

The Teupe group of companies has been commissioned to secure the historic facades. For this purpose, a temporary steel construction will be executed. Due to the special foundation situation and overall framework conditions, object-specific planning was required, in which no typified steel structures are used. Currently, Teupe is installing over 700 t of steel on site.

After placing the order and technical processing up to detailed workshop planning, Teupe manufactured the entire steel structure in its own workshops. The construction site logistics including planning and execution of the hoisting and crane work as well as the complete connection of the historic facade to the temporary steel structure was handled by Teupe.
