Abstract:

Different isolation systems in bridges

In the company Carlos Fernández Casado, S.L. Oficina de Proyectos have been designed and built many bridges in seismic areas such as Mexico, Colombia and Chile in the last 40 years. In these bridges have been arranged different isolation systems against seismic action, choosing the system that seemed best suited for each of them. It is noted that there is no single solution to resist the seismic action, each bridge may have a different system and that is equally valid.
