Abstract:

The deck replacement of two bridges in Luxembourg is presented, using a new launching method of composite steel-concrete box-girder decks already with the slab, which comprises also the dismantling of the old decks. The main construction steps for replacing the two bridge decks with typical spans of 35 m are described. The data of the new decks and the design verifications, both during construction and in service, are presented.
