Rehabilitation project:
Replace bridges: I490 over Mt. Read, Conrail & Genesee River; Replace Grape Street over I-490; Rehabilitate all other bridges (Deck replacements/Rehabilitation & widening);
Replace pavement with new Portland Cement Concrete (50 yr. Design life); Widen median and shoulders, replace median with a concrete barrier; Modifications to Ramps/Auxiliary lanes Inner Loop to Ames (EB and WB);
Construct Intelligent Transportation; Construction of Noise Barriers;
Improvements to Pedestrian/Bicycle access on side streets; Aesthetic improvements throughout the corridor including NY State's first Jurried Arts Competition for Public Art to be incorporated into Contract 1.
