16 May 1792 | Opened with a performance of "I giochi di Agrigento" by G. Paisiello. |

19th century | The premieres of Gioacchino Rossini "Tancredi" (1813), Vincenzo Bellini's "La Beatrice di Tenda" (1832) and Giuseppe Verdi's "Il Rigoletto" (1851) and "La Traviata" (1853) are performed at the theater. |
12 December 1836 | The original La Fenice is destroyed by fire. |
End of December 1837 | The theatre is re-opened after having been reconstructed by the Meduna brothers. |
1854 | The neo-classical ornaments are replaced in the new Luigi Filippo style. |
1936 | Radical restoration of the building including the addition of a mechanical stage. |
Night of 29 January 1996 | A fire completely destroys the building again. The electrical system was being updated to meet general safety regulations. |
