1914

Henri Flagler dies.

1931

Florida East Coast Railroad goes bankrupt.

2 September 1935

Line is damaged in a hurricane and service is abandoned. The State of Florida soon afterwards converts the bridges into highway bridges for US. Route 1.

ca. 1980

The Seven Mile Bridge is closed entirely, some sections are demolished.

1982

Construction of the Keys Bridge replacing the Seven Mile Bridges is completed. The old bridges can still be seen in most parts from the new bridge.
