1931 | Florida East Coast Railroad goes bankrupt. |
2 September 1935 | Line is damaged in a hurricane and service is abandoned. The State of Florida soon afterwards converts the bridges into highway bridges for US. Route 1. |
ca. 1980 | The Seven Mile Bridge is closed entirely, some sections are demolished. |
1982 | Construction of the Keys Bridge replacing the Seven Mile Bridges is completed. The old bridges can still be seen in most parts from the new bridge. |
