Excerpt from Wikipedia

Tower 93 of Facility 4101 (German: Mast 93 der Anlage 4101) is a 74.84 metres tall dead-end pylon north of Bleibtreusee. It was built by RWE in 1975 for carrying four 380-kV circuits. Since ist construction it carries two 380 kV circuits, which run from Oberzier substation to Sechtem substation. In 2002, two circuits for the power link of the German Railway Company from Cologne to Sindorf, which uses as all power lines of the German Railway Company single phase AC with a voltage of 110 kV and a frequency of 16.7 Hertz, were installed.

The tower was originally equipped with a roofed observation platform for the public, which was accessible by a staircase installed in a scaffold in the centre of the pylon. Tower 93 of Facility 4101 was probably the only electricity pylon in the world, which carried a public observation deck. In order to get an access with a better clearance from the top of the staircase to the railing of the platform, the lattice structure of the pylon was realized as inverted "v" in the height of the platform. In 2010, the observation deck was removed after repeated vandalism occurred, which even concerned screws important for the structural integrity of the tower.

Today, the only remains of the observation deck on this tower are the concrete plate between the legs of the tower, on which the scaffold with the staircase stood and the lattice pattern in form of the inverted "v" at the level of the former observation deck.
