Notes
The bridge replaces a twin prestressed concrete box girder which significant deformation problems at mid-span. The steel deck is assembled on the deck it is meant to replace then moved onto temporary supports alongside the concrete girder which is then demolished and the piers are strengthened. Afterwards the steel deck is moved into the position of the original deck and the concrete deck slab is cast. This way, traffic can be diverted onto the other span which remains in service during construction. The second girder is then replaced after traffic is moved onto the first new steel girder and the process is repeated.
