Opening to traffic.

12 April 1935

First pylon on the right bank collapses taking two spans with it.

6 January 1936

The remainder of the bridge is carried away during a flood.

8 May 1936

Report by Albert Caquot, Louis Grelot and André Coyne mentions slight design and construction faults, but gives as the cause for the accident the oxydation of the cables due to faulty construction.

1938

Counter-expertise incriminates the lack of maintenance and faulty loading records for the accident of 1935.

1946

Another expertise.

The highest court finally confirms the responsibility of the entrepreneur.
