Unique combination of two insulating materials in a single product

MAX FRANK is introducing a technical advancement of the proven Egcobox® cantilever connector for the thermal separation of reinforced concrete cantilever slabs – the new Egcobox® Combi element. The advantage lies in the significantly improved thermal insulation compared to the design with conventional fire protection boards.

Egcobox® Combi element cantilever connector

The thermally insulating cantilever connector minimizes heat loss between the interior of the building and the cantilevered reinforced concrete component. The newly developed Egcobox® offers the combination of two insulating materials in a cantilever connector element. The stable core of the insulating body consists of polystyrene, while the fire protection strips applied on both sides are made of rock wool. This achieves improved thermal insulation compared to designs with conventional fire protection boards. The Egcobox® Combi element meets the requirements of the highest fire protection class, REI120.

When installing the combi-element, the polystyrene insulating core ensures stability. In addition, the tight-fitting stainless steel pressure bearings in the joint area allow for easy installation on site.
