Abstract:

Sant Bartomeu Viaduct, on the new road Lleida-Girona

The present article describes the main features and constructive system of the Sant Bartomeu Viaduct on a new road, Lleida-Girona, near Vic (Barcelona). Viaduct of Saint Bartomeu is a prestressed concrete seven-span bridge. The new road crosses a valley characterised by a dense woodland and by the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The piers of the viaduct vary in height up to 48 meters. The construction, by incremental launching method of deck, has been developed in order to cause minimum afection to the environment.
