Abstract:

Translucent roof system for the Essen football stadium.

Partial shade on roofed areas, open sky through the roof and night-time lighting effects - the newly developed BEMO-monoSKY® roof system gives rise to myriad unusual design concepts. The system combines the load-bearing capacity of perforated standing seam profiles with the transparency of the layer formed by the water- carrying level. In addition, this transparent layer is also pervious to the light spectrum necessary for plant growth. Translucent roofs created using the BEMO-monoSKY® system are not only extremely economical; they also offer a vast range of entirely innovative architectural options.
