Rehabilitation of the platform hall of Wiesbaden Main Station.The article describes the planning and execution of the overhaul works regarding the Wiesbaden main station platform hall. The station which is a listed historic structure was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The platform hall showed various damages related to steel structure, roof skin and glazing. Rehabilitation work was carried out by considering the aspects of protected monuments and under the prerequisite of maintaining the railway operations. In addition to describing the structural system, the damages of the existing building and the rehabilitation measures, details on the structural calculation, the tender and the execution of works are addressed. |
