Abstract: |
Due to the increasing demands on infrastructural facilities the retrofitting of existing RC- and PC-bridges is gaining importance. The use of up-to-date materials and innovative methods offer economical alternatives to conventional strengthening techniques. In this article the retrofitting of the bridge over the Röslau valley is described. Especially the use of CFRP-strips bonded in slits marks a progressive alternative to improve the transverse load bearing capacity of bridge decks. The article gives background information for the use of CFRP-strips bonded in slits. The conclusions made in an accompanying scientific program regarding the temperature dependency of epoxy adhesives are explained in detail. |
