Abstract: |
Navío Bridge in the Algeciras SeaportThe article describes the design and constructive process of the Navío Bridge in Algeciras Seaport. The bridge is made up of two twin structures, strongly conditioned by the location (the impossibility to interrupt the maritime traffic) and the schedule limitations. Each bridge is 847,5 m long divided in 18 spans: one central span of 125,0 m, two adjacent spans of 50,0 m and two accesses: the back one made of eight spans, and the access placed on the front with seven spans. The deck is formed by a monocellular continuous box girder of prestressed concrete with cantilevers, with variable depth in the main span and the two adjacent ones, and uniform depth in the accesses. The article describes the design conditions, the bridge morphology, the structure?s analysis and the constructive process. |
