Abstract:

Reduced Leaching Behaviour of Sprayed Concrete

The drainage system of traffic tunnels may be blocked by precipitations. Main influencing factors being the chemical composition of the water penetrating into the tunnel drainage system and the tunnel layout. Another influencing factor may be the composition of cementitious materials used. A simple, straight forward testing procedure is presented, which can be useful for detecting a potential leaching process. First experiences with this test method applied for sprayed concrete, its limits, precision and the influencing factors are presented.
