Loads test in railway bridges. High speed behaviour results in AVE Madrid-Sevilla line

The technical development has facilitated to put into operation railway lines with speeds over 300 km/h. This creates new challenges about the attention to the dynamic effect in the project of the bridges for these lines. The different international Standards discuss this subject with surprising disparity. Because of this. during the spring of 1995, at the request of D.G.I.T.F. was undertaken a campaign of high speed tests with the participation of Intemac and other different companies. It was registered the crossing of service AVE trains. on four bridges in the high speed line Madrid-Sevilla, after a theoretical forecast ot the behaviour of these bridges. The conclusions of the tests in the "Viaducto de la Ribera" are shown.
