Abstract:

The new Teruel viaduct

The New Teruel Viaducto is described, constructed by the balanced cantilever method, with in situ concrete segments. The three spans have lengths of 51 m + 117 m + 63 m, with two piers 17,90 and 27,60 m in heigth. The deck depth varies between 2,50 m and 6,00. The point of interest of this structure lies in the 20 m wide deck formed by a single 10 m wide box girder with 5 m cantilevers on each side. Transversal prestressing was used for the transverse bending.
