Masonry structures in housebuilding under earthquake actions.

Definition of structural provisions for abdication of calculational verification in the earthquake zones 2 and 3. Results of a research project funded by the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning will be presented. It affiliates to a previous one on masonry structures in earthquake zone 1 [1]. The necessary crosssection areas according to DIN 4149 were recalculated for standard masonry structures for housebuilding. These values could be approved in generally and accordingly reduced in most cases, if the adequate material data were used for the respectively unitmortar-combination.
