Abstract:

Track/Bridge-Interaction - State of the art and examples.

Track/Bridge-Interaction significantly influences the choice of bridge-systems, the construction and calculation because of the actions due to rail traffic (braking and acceleration, LM 71) and changes of temperature. Main parameters with regard to the construction are the track superstructure, expansion length of bridge superstructure, support stiffness, transitions structures for bridges and the bridge design. Whereas in the majority of cases simplified calculation methods are sufficient, in certain difficult cases special and complex calculation methods are necessary. This article demonstrates the technical background and the state of the art with a perspective to further developments.
