Abstract:

Cable stayed footbridge, to access the intake tower of the Francisco Abellán Dam

This paper describes a cable stayed footbridge, built to access the intake tower of the Francisco Abellán Dam. The footbridge is a symmetric structure with two spans of 45,00 m each, and a composite box girder. The construction was done by launching the wall steel structure from one hillside, in order to avoid expensive lifting means due to high cliff.
