Abstract: This contribution presents a dossier of Latin legal sources relating to the use of architectural elements during the High Empire. The texts presented are followed by an original translation and commentary providing an overview. They show that recoveries of building materials and ornaments (marble, columns, statues) on the occasion of sales or bequests of real estate were limited by law, but were possible within a strictly defined space.
