Abstract:

The Caiyuanba Bridge over the Yangtze River, located between Yuzhong and Nanan districts with a main span of 420 m, was the longest arch span bridge for dual highway and rail traffic at the time of its completion. It carries six lanes of highway on its upper deck and two tracks of monorails on its lower deck. This paper presents the key factors and solutions in the design and construction of this tiedarch bridge.
