Abstract: |
The 18 km Fixed Link across the Great Belt is now under construction in Denmark. The Fixed Link comprises three major projects - all converging on the tiny island of Sprogø in the middle of the Great Belt: and 8 km bored railway tunnel between Zealand and Sprogø; a 6.6 km concrete motorway and rail bridge between Funen and Sprogø; and a 6.8 km elevated motorway bridge between Zealand and Sprogø. Work on the design and construction of the Fixed Link across the Great Belt began in 1987. The construction will be completed in 1997. |
