Abstract:

Deformation behavior of laminated glass under dynamic loading.

The purpose of the present paper is to give an overview of current modeling techniques for the finite element simulation of laminated glass under dynamic loading. Deformation and the post-breakage behavior of laminated glass are discussed by means of impact and blast loading. Numerical results using different modeling techniques for the numerical simulation of the composite are presented and compared critically to experimental observations. The time integration for the dynamic response of laminated glass is performed by both implicit and explicit finite element solvers.
