Due to the introduction of the EC 7 and the change from the global safety concept to the partial safety concept, the established and well-known nomograms of Blum [1] for a simplified estimation of the embedment depth of sheet pile walls are no longer valid. Hence, new nomograms for three different static boundary conditions based on the partial safety concept have been derived at the "Institute of Geotechnical Engineering" of RWTH Aachen University.
