This paper describes the structural assessment work carried out by the West Gate Bridge Strengthening Alliance ("WGBSA") on the West Gate cable-stayed spans in devising the necessary strengthening measures, the approaches adopted to optimise the strengthening and the various challenges faced by the construction team to implement the strengthening. |
