Abstract: |
The Kai Tak Development (KTD) master was introduced by the Hong Kong Government to develop the site of the historical international airport and create a sustainable environment, which cultivates a comprehensive network of parks for everyone. This publication discusses how the KTD master plan was expressed in the concept design of the Landscaped Deck (the Deck), which was proposed by the joint-venture team (the team) comprising of VINCI (Contractors), ARUP (Engineers) and VASCONI (Architects). In the publication [1] explained are the overall philosophy for the proposed scheme for the Landscaped Deck, whereas this publication focuses on the expressive architecture and diversified structural forms, which were developed by the team. |
