Abstract:

The foundations were hand crafted, the structural system highly utilised, and the construction made of light-weight aluminium optimized to allow for helicopter lift in in one piece of 53 m. Helpful were high fabrication quality a skilful and physically fit high-altitude work crew, and precise logistical coordination to minimize physical impact at this site during construction. The keys to building this bridge at a remote and extreme site were dedication, experience, the will to challenge boundaries and the ability to find unconventional yet effective solutions together in a balanced constellation between contractor, engineer and architect.
