Abstract: |
Using the balanced lift method for bridge construction involves vertical assembly of the bridge girders. In order to rotate the bridge girders into the final horizontal position, compression struts are used and present an integral part of the finished bridge. This construction method has been patented worldwide. Currently four bridges are being designed and will be built in the course of the construction of the S7 motorway in Austria in 2012. Since the bridge parts are moved during the construction process it is quite obvious that this method can also be applied in the design of moveable bridges. |
