Dean Cornwell's 49-meter long mural "Telephone Men and Women at Work" is added to the lobby.

3 June 1959

On the 84th anniversary of the telephone, a museum and exhibit in memory of Alexander Graham Bell is opened featuring his original tools, books, workbench, etc. saved from the original building he worked in when it was demolished in the 1920s.
