Excerpt from Wikipedia
Parmentier is a station on Paris Métro Line 3. It was opened on 19 October 1904 as part of the first section of line 3 between Père Lachaise and Villiers.
It is on the Avenue Parmentier, which is named after the administrator and scientist Antoine-Augustin Parmentier, promoter of cultivating the potato as a food source (for humans) in France and throughout Europe.
