1693 | As a defensive measure one span is replaced with a wooden construction |

1810 | Wooden part is replaced with a new stone construction |
April 1945 | Retreating German troops destroy one of the middle piers. |
1946 | Pier and adjoining spans reconstructed in reinforced concrete. |
1952 — 1952 | Due to construction of the Neckar Canal and a road along the shore of the river, 5 spans are replaced by a steel/concrete composite structure. |
1979 — 1980 | Damage to the stone structure results in the city's decision to completely overhaul the bridge and widen the roadway by replacing the stone deck and parapets with a wider reinforced concrete slab. |
