As a defensive measure one span is replaced with a wooden construction

1810

Wooden part is replaced with a new stone construction

April 1945

Retreating German troops destroy one of the middle piers.

1946

Pier and adjoining spans reconstructed in reinforced concrete.

1952 — 1952

Due to construction of the Neckar Canal and a road along the shore of the river, 5 spans are replaced by a steel/concrete composite structure.

1979 — 1980

Damage to the stone structure results in the city's decision to completely overhaul the bridge and widen the roadway by replacing the stone deck and parapets with a wider reinforced concrete slab.
