Notes
Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, it cost £14,500, most of which was for the stone approaches and foundations. It appears to be essentially in its original state except that the deck was strengthened in 1923. It is now restricted to one lane of traffic. There is an attractive stone toll house on the eastern approach (now converted to a private residence) and a matching tollkeeper's kiosk opposite (now derelict).
