Notes
During reconstruction and widening, new Eurocode loading was applied in the design. This required the removal of the sand infill on the arch spandrels which was then replaced by a multi-cellular structure made of light-weight aggregate concrete to reduce the total dead load and overall stresses in the existing arches.
