Notes

The bridge was originally built in 1952 to cross the Misogi-gawa river between Ikoma-machi and Fuchu-machi in Nanao. It was replaced by a wider flat slab bridge in April of 2002. The original Chosei-bashi was moved to Kibono-oka Koen Park, Mangyo-machi, also in Nanao, in May of 2002 and is used as a pedestrian bridge there.

Prior to the move, test specimen were taken from the original structure and the bridge was cut into several pieces length- and cross-wise. The bridge was then reassembled in its original shape at the new site in the park.

It is the oldest prestressed concrete bridge in Japan.
