Chronology
24 June 2021, 01:30 | The East wing's north/central section of the building suddenly and completely collapses, eventually taking the remainder of the beach-side wing with it. Immediately afterwards, one person was confirmed to have been killed and eleven more injured but 99 remain unaccounted for. |

4 July 2021, 22:30 | The still-standing western portion of the building is demolished using explosives due to the pending arrival of Tropical Storm Elsa to prevent an uncontrolled collapsed during the storm. The controlled demolition was designed to have any debris fall outside of the perimeter in which the search-and-rescue efforts are taking placing, i.e. either inside the footprint of the building or on the street. The search for survivors resumes 20 minutes after the demolition. |
7 July 2021 | Search-and-rescue efforts are ended as the chance of finding any survivors is considered to be nill. So far 54 bodies have been recovered while 86 people believed to have been in the section of the building during its collapse are still unaccounted for. |
