Simple (primitive) suspension bridges
A simple suspension bridge, also called rope bridge, swing bridge, suspended bridge, hanging bridge, or catenary bridge is a primitive type of suspension bridge where the deck lies directly on the suspension cables or the suspension cables form the railing, omitting the need for pylons. The bridge deck thus always follows the catenary curve of the cable, and is generally very flexible.
