View from Water Taxi to North Avenue, looking looking north at the western Division Street bridge and the Morton Salt plant, in Chicago, Illinois
Until 2014, this bridge was one of two almost-identical bascule bridges on West Division Street, but the eastern bridge was dismantled in 2014 and replaced by a temporary bridge until a new fixed-span bridge is completed. The west bridge, built in 1904, crosses the North Branch of the Chicago River (whereas the east bridge on the same street crosses over the North Branch Canal).
