Belgium House, Hebrew University

Belgium house in the Hebrew university campus is named by the name of Fabiola – queen of Belgium

The building was built in 1967 by architect Zeev Rabina's unique design and is built differently from the other buildings at Givat Ram in international style

This building is combined of two rounded parts connected to each other. The design is derived from two historical elements which were a part of that site:
A round water hole which served the University for water supply on top of which the university restaurant was built later. The restaurant was built according to the traditional Jerusalem buildings having narrow windows and inspired by the Jerusalem wall. The second element is a big old tree located in thecenter of the main house around which it was built
