Abstract:

The ultimate load bearing capacity of composite dowels with clothoid form.

Composite dowels are acting as a ductile and economic member to transfer shear forces from concrete to steel. Their load bearing behavior is highlighted in recent research projects. To complete the state-of-the-art investigations in the plastic load bearing behavior of the steel dowel are presented. Beside experimental tests new numerical models of composite dowels will be discussed and a design recommendation will be validated.
