Abstract: Vasari affirms in his Lives that Giuliano da Sangallo rediscovered the volte di getto all’antica. Giuliano uses them on several occasions and in different ways, sometimes alongside stucco decorations on the intradoses. This decoration is sometimes carried out together with the vaults, using stamped moulds. This innovative technique was subsequently abandoned, and left few traces in written treatises or later projects.
