Investigations on the abrasion behavior of soil from hydraulic impacts

To assess the interaction of soil and rock between each other and versus other materials during transport, loading and quarrying, abrasion as one part of general degradation is an important parameter. To investigate abrasion from hydraulic effects, appropriate tests are compared and parametric studies have been performed. Both, active abrasion of soil as abradant and passive abrasion e.g. due to bedload transport are considered to work out relevant influencing factors. To simulate hydraulically induced abrasion, the Micro-Deval-Test has proven its suitability.
