Abstract:

Deflection behaviour of slim-floor girders.

Due to the high slenderness of this construction type composite slim-floor sections are often determined by the deflection design. The girder deflection is mainly influenced by the bending stiffness of the concrete chord as well as the cracking behaviour in the span and for continuous girder also at the support area. For the calculated girder stiffness and deflection the assumed effective width of the concrete chord is of importance. Therefore the present paper deals with investigations on the deflection behaviour of slim-floor girders taking into account the bending state and the cracking of the concrete. Based on experimental investigations the analysis of results of a wide-ranging parametric study by means of a new analytical non-linear calculation model leads among others to a proposal for a quasi-elastic calculation method of the deflections of single span and two span slim-floor girders.
