Abstract: |
Many flexible tower-shaped structures experience aerodynamic problems under natural wind action. Dynamic dampers can serve as countermeasures for wind-induced oscillation. In this paper, three types of tuned mass dampers and a liquid-type damper are outlined. Damped free vibration tests with and without dampers demonstrate their effectiveness. In addition, the suppression effect was determined from results of aerodynamic response observation. |
