Abstract:

In the article, strengthening of precast reinforced concrete girders with span of 15 m by using prestressed CFRP stripes is described. These girders (together with columns) represent the main structural elements of the canopy by the industrial hall. The necessity to perform the strengthening was caused by excessive deflections of these elements, being a result of rheological processes in the concrete – shrinkage and creep. Possible ways of executing the strengthening by using CFRP strips were analyzed and compared, results of calculations of deflections of the girders before and after their external prestressing were described and the technology of the chosen prestressing system was presented.
