Abstract:

An intensive development of a transport infrastructure noticeable in recentyears causes significant fragmentation of habitats, barrier effects and increase in the mortalityrate of wild animals on roads. It is very dangerous both for drivers and animals. It is very important that a processes of planning and designing the road is attended bydesigners, planners, road authorities who are fully informed of the migration routes ofanimals, as well as forest inspectorates and naturalists focused on animals protection. It isalso necessary to collect detailed information about road collision and accidents involvinganimals that enable the development of ways and methods to protect both people andanimals.
