Abstract:

In this article ways to connect separate glass elements are investigated. Firstly, bolted connections are analysed and then a newly developed and tested, elegant and resilient bolted connection in glass is presented. Examples of structures realised by this new type of connection are shown. Following, in a more theoretical part, two new ways of connecting glass elements are discussed; gluing and melting. The future will point out which type of connection will prove to be the most appropriate method to connect glass elements.
