Abstract: |
Composite supportsThe present work shows a detailed exposition and justification of the computation methods presented in EC4, corresponding to steel-concrete composite supports. The so called "General and simplified methods" are particularly emphasized. These methods can be used for double-simmetry-axis-supports under pure compression. The simplified method (based on an equivalent support, with a stiffness which is a function of the partial stiffness of the three possible, components, i.e., rolled steel, concrete and reinforcement) is particularly studied. The above mentioned equivalent support is deffined by means of the European buclking curves. The original CECM tables are included. Last of all, checking methods for excentric compression on single or double simmetry shape supports are described. These methods are based on the construction of an axial-bending interaction diagram. |
