Abstract:

To meet the high durable requirements of assembled bridge piers in the marine environment, a new grout is used in the grout sleeve to improve the corrosion resistance of the pier bottom. The seismic performance of piers adopting this new grout is studied. Firstly, a dynamic analysis model of the assembled reinforced concrete bridge pier with this grout is established using the finite element software ABAQUS. Moreover, the damage modes, hysteresis curves, and energy consumption for low reversal cyclic loading are investigated. The results indicate that the seismic failure mode of the precast piers is the concrete damage at the joints of the precast members, and the local damage of the grout in the grout sleeve does not affect the integral seismic performance of the bridge pier.
